Pull the pages you need out of a document you should not upload

Splitting a PDF is usually a privacy decision disguised as a formatting one. You need to send a client the three pages of a report that concern them, not the twenty that mention other clients, or you need one signed page out of a bundle for your records. Doing that on an upload-based service means the entire original — including everything you were trying not to share — sits on someone else's disk. This tool extracts pages in the browser and the original never leaves your machine.

How This Local-First Tool Works

  • Extract a single page, a contiguous range, or a set of specific pages, and get a new PDF containing exactly those. The source document is never modified.
  • Text remains selectable in the output because pages are copied intact, not screenshotted. This matters if the extract will be searched, quoted or run through a contract review.
  • Splitting is the correct way to redact by omission — removing pages entirely — but it is not redaction. Blacking out text within a page you keep is a different problem, and drawing a black box over text in most editors leaves the text underneath extractable.
  • A split file loses any digital signature on the original, for the same reason a merged one does: the signature covered the whole document as it stood.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I extract just one page from a PDF?
Add the file, specify the page number, and download. The result is a new single-page PDF; the original stays untouched on your device. Nothing is uploaded at any point.
Is splitting a safe way to remove confidential pages?
Yes, provided the confidential material is confined to the pages you drop. Splitting genuinely removes those pages and their content from the output file. It does not help if the sensitive text sits on a page you are keeping — that requires real redaction, and covering text with a shape does not remove it from the file.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
You need to be able to open it first. If the document is encrypted with an open password you do not have, no tool can read it, and any site claiming otherwise is either wrong or asking you to hand over a confidential file and its password together.
Does the extracted file keep the original quality?
Yes. Pages are copied byte-for-byte rather than re-rendered, so fonts, images and vector artwork are identical to the source. The output is typically much smaller simply because it contains fewer pages.

Every Solo OS tool runs the same way: fill in the form, watch the document build, download the PDF. Nothing is uploaded and no account is required. When this document is done, the proposal generator, UPI invoice generator and PDF e-sign tool cover the rest of the engagement.
